The US state of Maine is the battleground for a dispute between privacy advocates on one side and ISPs on the other that will likely influence regulation in other parts of the country. A new law, and the lawsuit that opposed it, is part of a larger battle between ISPs and states that are attempting to enforce regulations stronger than those already imposed by the federal government.
